Jeffrey Sabol
From an early age, Jeffrey C. Sabol was fascinated by the every-changing reflections on the water of boats at anchor in the harbor where he grew up in New England. This fascination translated into his unique interpretation of line and shadow, which appear almost abstract in his startlingly, realistic work. His paintings are an exercise in tranquility and gentle motion, as they study the lightness of line.
After studying architectural design and drafting, Jeffrey then traveled extensively. He settled down in the Florida Keys and worked as a commercial fisherman in the Gulf of Mexico. His experience of living at sea for weeks at a time is now reflected as a pervasive mood that is ever-present in his work. In addition to being an accomplished marine artist, Jeffrey is also known for his murals and Trompe l'oeil effects. Jeffrey had the privilege of studying under the world renown muralist and portrait artist, W. Linzee Prescott of New York. Together they painted twelve murals on the exterior of the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to commemorate the 1976 Bicentennial.
Jeffrey is a Member of the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA) and his work is found both in private and public collections across the United States. Jeffrey is frequently commissioned to paint murals and yacht portraits, along with extensive acrylic marine works for which he was won numerous awards.
