Gerard Smith
Gerard Smith of Waterford, CT, has been a wildlife artist for over 30 years. His canvases hold the familiar images of the shoreline that speak to his engagement with the natural world. Though his work speaks to his love of all nature, he is especially drawn to birds, particularly birds of prey for their color, power and majesty. His canvases yield subtle textures and nuances, and are noted for their abstract compositions and lively patterns. Smith’s work has been exhibited extensively throughout New England and can be found in private collections throughout the United States and in Europe. Some of the celebrities who own his paintings include: Chaleton Heston, Anthony Quinn, Clint Eastwood, Burt Reynolds, as well as the corporate collections of the Rockefeller Foundation and Johnson & Johnson.
